SHORTER BASKETBALL SPLITS AT SOUTHERN POLY
Shorter University’s women’s and men’s basketball teams split a pair of games with Southern Poly last night in Marietta. The 22nd ranked Lady Hawks won their game 66-58. The number one Hawks lost to number four Southern Poly 87-84. It was the first Southern States Athletic Conference loss for the Hawks, who moved back to the top spot in the latest NAIA Men’s Basketball Top 25 Coaches’ Poll released last night.
Tune in for Berry College men’s basketball tonight on WLAQ AM 1410 and www.wlaq1410.com. The Vikings will host Birmingham Southern at 7 pm at the Cage Center on the Berry College campus.
Shorter and Berry will go head to head for the second time this season as the cross-town rivalry between the teams is revived this Thursday night at Berry. Tip off is set for 6 pm for the women and 8 pm for the men. The games will be broadcast on both 95.7 FM The Ridge and WLAQ AM 1410 and on our websites, www.theridge957.com and www.wlaq1410.com.
