ROME BRAVES KICK OFF ROAD TRIP WITH WIN OVER SAVANNAH SAND GNATS
The Rome Braves posted a 2-1 win over the Savannah Sand Gnats in the series opener between the teams last night in Savannah.
The Braves will face the Sand Gnats again tonight at 7:05 pm in game two of a four game series at Savannah’s Grayson Stadium. The game will be broadcast on 95.7 FM The Ridge and www.theridge957.com. Rome Braves radio voice JB Smith will go on the air with the pre-game show at 6:50 pm.
The Braves’ series in Savannah will continue thru Sunday and will be followed by a four game series in Charleston, South Carolina against the Riverdogs next Monday thru Thursday. The Braves’ next home stand is set for July 27th thru August 2nd.
With last night’s win, the Braves are now in a four way tie for first place in the Southern Division of the South Atlantic League, along with the Asheville Tourists (the division’s first half winner), the Charleston Riverdogs and the Augusta Greenjackets.
