The Floyd County Police Department is now handling the death of a two-year-old girl as a criminal investigation.  The decision follows the findings of the Georgia Bureau of Investigation Crime Lab that Kailee Marie Parker’s death is a result of and is termed as homicide, according to a release from the Floyd County Police.  The release reveals that police are looking into the injuries that Kailee had received that cannot be explained by those from an accident.  The toddler was reportedly assaulted by others and died of multiple blunt traumatic injuries to the head.  Police intend to conduct a thorough investigation into her death.  The investigation by the Floyd County Police Criminal Investigation Division is being led by Sgt. Teri Davis and Investigator Ojilvia Lom.

Two-year-old Kailee Marie Parker was pronounced dead at 2:30 pm on Monday afternoon.  The girl was reportedly at a home at the intersection of Reeceburg Road and Booze Mountain Road when it was believed she was having a seizure.  A family member sought the help of a neighbor who attempted to perform CPR on the girl, to no avail.  Her funeral will be held today at 11 am at the Henderson and Sons Funeral Home.
