SHORTER UNIVERSITY FOOTBALL LOSES TO GEORGIA STATE AT THE GEORGIA DOME IN GSU’S INAUGURAL GAME

 

Shorter University’s football team lost to Georgia State 41-7 last night at the Georgia Dome in GSU’s inaugural game.  More than 30,000 people filled the Dome for the game.  Shorter’s next game is not until Saturday, September 18th.  It will be another road game for the Hawks against Pikeville in Pikeville, Kentucky.  Catch all the action of Shorter University football all season long on 95.7 FM The Ridge and online at www.theridge957.com

WEEK TWO OF FRIDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL TONIGHT

 

It’s week two of high school football for area teams.  Tonight, WLAQ AM 1410 will be at Darlington as the Tigers host Cartersville.  Our broadcast evening will begin with This Week in Northwest Georgia Football at 6:30 p.m. We’ll go on the air live from Darlington’s Chris Hunter Stadium around 7:15 p.m.  We will have the high school football game of the week on 95.7 FM The Ridge beginning September 10th, after the Rome Braves 2010 season ends.  However, tune in after the Rome Braves game tonight for the High School Football Scoreboard Show brought to you by the Rome Orthopaedic Center.

GEORGIA TECH TO KICK OFF 2010 FOOTBALL SEASON ON WLAQ AM 1410 THIS SATURDAY

 

Going back to your college football update, WLAQ AM 1410 is once again this season your home for Georgia Tech football.  The Yellow Jackets will host South Carolina State this Saturday afternoon at 1 p.m. We will go on the air with the Yellow Jacket Countdown at 11 a.m., which will be followed by the Ramblin’ Wreck Kickoff Show, and of course, the game.

ROME BRAVES LOSE ROAD MATCH WITH WEST VIRGINIA POWER, HEAD TO LEXINGTON FOR CLOSING SERIES OF THE SEASON AGAINST LEGENDS

 

The Rome Braves were defeated by the West Virginia Power 3-0 last night in Charleston, West Virginia. 

The Braves will be in Lexington, Kentucky tonight to take on the Legends at 7:05 p.m.  The game will be broadcast on 95.7 FM The Ridge.  The Braves will officially close out the 2010 season in Lexington with four games tonight thru Monday.

ATLANTA BRAVES LOSE SERIES CLOSER TO NEW YORK METS AT TURNER FIELD

 

The Atlanta Braves were defeated by the New York Mets 4-2 last night at Turner Field. 

The Braves will be on the road to take on the Florida Marlins tonight at 7:10 p.m.  The game will not be broadcast on the AM 1410 WLAQ, due to our coverage of high school football.  You can watch tonight’s game on Sport South.   We’ll rejoin the Atlanta Braves radio network for tomorrow night’s game in Florida against the Marlins at 7:10 p.m.
