The Girl Scouts turned 100 last Monday, March 12th.  A 100th birthday celebration was held during the weekend prior to that in the birthplace of the Girl Scouts, Savannah.  Local Troop 7244 got to be a part of the auspicious occasion.  Troop Leader Charisse Durham says it was a remarkable experience for the girls.

A local celebration of the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Girl Scouts will be held on Saturday, April 14th from 10 am until 2 pm at the Coosa Valley Fairgrounds.  Call Charisse Durham for more details at (706) 346-1669.
