The Chic-Fil-A Dwarf House on Shorter Avenue hosted a Spirit Night to raise funds for the Friends of Mike Patterson Trust last night. Patterson is the 43-year old father who severed his spinal cord after diving into Euharlee Creek in Rockmart to rescue a drowning child on June 8th. He died on June 28th.
Ten percent of the Dwarf House’s proceeds from 5 pm until 8 pm last night will go towards the Mike Patterson fund.
Restaurant Marketing Director Debbie Blackman indicates that it’s easy to want to help someone who put another before himself.
Patterson’s story has inspired people nationwide. The Friends of Mike Patterson Facebook page currently has an estimated 73,000 ‘likes’.
