TWO CHARGED IN STABBING DEATH OF ROME TEEN
A Rome teenager was stabbed to death late Monday night. Tymurius Elkins, age 16, was pronounced dead just after midnight. Ricky Ricardo Cruz, age 20, and Jonathon Tyler Carson, age 17, have been charged in the crime. Cruz has been charged with involuntary manslaughter and fighting in a public place following accusations that he stabbed Elkins in an altercation in the parking lot of a Shorter Avenue business. Carson has been charged with involuntary manslaugher (for being party to the crime) and fighting in a public place. Cruz reportedly was perceived to have flashed an obscene gesture and was flagged down by Elkins, Carson and another companion, 17 year old Will West. That turned into an altercation that ultimately led to the stabbing death of Elkins. West was also stabbed and is in recovery at Floyd Medical Center. An investigation into the incident continues.

Ty was a good friend to us all. No deserves to be killed at such an early age and the worse part about it, he died a day before his birthday. Ricky and Taylor knew how good of a person Ty was towards everyone. So many young people are crying,hurt at the fact that another one of our brothers are gone. Those to shouldn’t have been charged with manslaughter, it was clear that they specifically tried to kill Ty. They will get theirs in the end. Taylor was Ty’s best friend. Best friends don’t do that. Rest in peace Ty

I UNDERSTAND WHERE YOU ARE COMING FROM. TY DIDN’T DESERVE TO DIE THE WAY HE DID BUT NOW WE KNOW THAT HE IS IN A BETTER PLACE. AND ALSO TY WAS A GREAT FRIEND BUT EVEN THOUGH HE WASN’T A PERFECT PERSON HE WAS SOMEONE’S FRIEND ,SON , AND BROTHER SO I THINK RICKY AND JT SHOULD GET A MURDER CHARGE AND THIS WHOLE THING ABOUT RICKY BEING OUT ON BAIL IS REALLY CRAZY BUT LIKE YOU SAID DESTINY THEY GONE GET THEIRS IN THE END FOR KILLING MY BIG CUZ/BIG BRO AYE CUZ TO LET YOU KNOW WE ALL LOVE YOU AND ARE PRAYING THAT YOU WATCH OVER US FOR ME BABY BOY RIP.
