In college softball, Shorter University’s Lady Hawks are the NCCAA South Region champions after picking up a 4-0 win over Southern Wesleyan in the championship game yesterday afternoon in Central, South Carolina. The Lady Hawks advance to the NCCAA Softball National Championship Tournament, which will be held May 9-11 at Bluefield College in Botetourt County, Virginia.
Shorter University’s Lady Hawks softball team opened play in the NCCAA South Region Tournament yesterday with a 7-0 win over Southern Wesleyan in Central, South Carolina. The Lady Hawks, the number one seed in the tournament, will advance to the championship game today at 1 pm. They will play the winner of this morning’s third place game between Southern Wesleyan and Point University.

Shorter will open play today at 4:30 pm against the winner of the 2 pm game between Point and Southern Wesleyan.
The Shorter University baseball team lost a non-conference match with Stillman 4-3 yesterday at Shorter’s Robert H. Ledbetter Complex. With the loss, the Hawks fall to 12-20 on the season. They’ll hit the road this weekend for a three game series with Gulf South Conference rival Delta State.
