Dale Murphy’s final year on the National Baseball Hall of Fame ballot did not render the results Atlanta Braves fans had hoped for as the former Braves outfielder did not receive the 75 percent of the vote necessary to be inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2013. Social media outlets have been flooded with support for Murphy to be inducted into the Hall this year, his final of 15 years to appear on the ballot. In spite of a boost in votes this year from previous years, he only got 18.6 percent in 2013.

Shorter University’s men’s and women’s basketball teams split a pair of games with Gulf South Conference rival Valdosta State on Saturday in Valdosta.
