FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS SET TO SHINE TONIGHT FOR AREA HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL TEAMS

Friday night lights are set to shine tonight as area high school football teams take the field. This has been designated as Week One by the Georgia High School Association, and for many area teams, it will be their first week of play. A number of others will enter their second week of play as they opened the season during Week Zero last Friday night.

The 2014 high school football season is officially here! Many area teams kicked off the regular season this past Friday night; for other teams, their season opener is coming up this Friday night. WLAQ AM 1410 will get you ready for the year in high school football with a rebroadcast of our annual High School Football Coaches’ Preview Shows this evening at 5 pm. The programs, each lasting about 30 minutes, feature interviews with the head football coaches for Armuchee, Coosa, Darlington, Model, Pepperell and Rome High Schools and Unity Christian School. The preview shows will air in alphabetical order and can also be heard online at www.wlaq1410.com.

CURTAIN SET TO RISE ON 2014 HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL SEASON FOR SOME AREA TEAMS TONIGHT

Friday night lights are set to shine for numerous area high school football teams who will kick off their 2014 season tonight. Among those teams are the Darlington Tigers. The Tigers will open their season at Murphy, North Carolina in a game that will be broadcast on WLAQ AM 1410 and www.wlaq1410.com. Steve Conrad and Philip Edge will bring you the story of the game and will go on air at 7:15 pm. Kick off is slated for 7:30 pm.

GET A SNEAK PREVIEW OF 2014 HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL SEASON THIS SUNDAY AND MONDAY ON WLAQ

The curtain is just about to rise on the 2014 season for area high school football teams!  In fact, many teams will open their season this Friday night.  WLAQ AM 1410 will offer listeners a sneak preview at the season ahead for Rome and Floyd County teams with our annual High School Football Coaches’ Preview Shows.  The 30 minute programs will feature interviews from the head coaches of Armuchee, Coosa, Darlington, Model, Pepperell and Rome High Schools and Unity Christian Schools.  They will air on Sunday evening, immediately following the Atlanta Braves at Cincinnati Reds game and again on Monday evening at 5 pm.  You can also listen to the preview shows online at www.wlaq1410.com.
