ROME BRAVES RAINED OUT, READY FOR NEW OPPONENT

The Rome Braves game with the Asheville Tourists scheduled for yesterday afternoon was postponed due to inclement weather and will be made up at a later date.  The Braves took two of three in their rain shortened series with the Tourists at State Mutual Stadium.  They’ll host the Augusta Greenjackets in a three game series starting tonight.  That series will feature an early Education Day game with a 10:30 am start time tomorrow morning and a 1 pm Business Person’s Special game on Wednesday afternoon.  First pitch of tonight’s game is set for 7 pm.  The game will be broadcast on 95.7 FM The Ridge and www.theridge957.com.  Rome Braves radio voice Ben Poplin will go on air with the pre-game show at 6:50 pm.

ATLANTA BRAVES BACK AT ‘THE TED’ TONIGHT

The Atlanta Braves took a day off yesterday; they’ll be back home sweet home at Turner Field tonight to open a six game homestand that will include three games each with the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Minnesota Twins.  Paul Maholm is scheduled to get the start for the Braves in tonight’s series opener with the Dodgers.  Also, Jason Heyward is expected to be activated from the disabled list tonight after recovering from an emergency appendectomy on April 22nd.  First pitch is set for 7:35 pm at “The Ted”.  The game will be broadcast on the AM 1410 WLAQ.  Pre-game programming will begin at 6:20 pm from the Atlanta Braves radio network.
