CRBI TO HOST PADDLE OF BURWELL CREEK

Written by Elizabeth Davis. Posted in News & Weather

The Coosa River Basin Initiative invites the public to join them for a paddle of the Burwell Creek floodplain and wetlands that are slated for development into a 60 acre shopping center.  The paddle is set for tomorrow.  The CRBI believe the plans for the city-owned land is a bad idea.  They seek to educate the public during tomorrow’s paddle, which will begin at 10:30 am.  Participants should meet at the Burwell Creek parking area near Ridge Ferry Park.  Complimentary boats will be available.  For more information, call the CRBI at (706) 232-2724 or email executive director Joe Cook at jcook@coosa.org.
