ATLANTA BRAVES FALL TO NEW YORK YANKEES IN SERIES OPENER
The Atlanta Braves lost to the New York Yankees 3-0 last night in the opening game of an interleague series between the teams at Turner Field. Braves starter Randall Delgado was tagged with the loss; he gave up five hits and three runs in five innings of work. And the Braves’ offense was unable to back him up with any runs.
That was the second straight loss for the Braves after a season-best six game winning streak.
The Braves are hoping for better luck tonight against the Yankees as the teams go head to head in game two of their three game series. First pitch is set for 7:10 pm at Turner Field. The game will be broadcast on the AM 1410 WLAQ, Rome’s original home for Atlanta Braves baseball. Air time for the pre-game show is 5:55 pm from the Atlanta Braves radio network.
The Braves are still in second place of the National League East, now three games behind the first place Washington Nationals. The Yankees lead the American League East.
